WETA, as an independent and not-for-profit public broadcaster and producer, provides its viewers and listeners with quality, compelling programs and serves a broad community with educational projects and web-based initiatives. Michele worked on a number of significant educational products for WETA, including a discussion guide and online lesson plans for the Ted Turner film Avoiding Armageddon; a print teacher’s guide and online lesson plans for Ken Burns’ film Horatio’s Drive; an online teacher’s guide with lesson plans and parent activities to accompany Amy Stechler’s documentary The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo; and an online teacher’s guide and lesson plans as companion educational resources for American Valor, a film about military heroes awarded the Medal of Honor.
